LAWRENCE'S HOTEL
THE OLDEST HOTEL ON THE IBERIAN PENINSULA
since 1764
Lawrence’s Hotel is the oldest hotel on the Iberian Peninsula, having welcomed such illustrious guests as Lord Byron and the great Portuguese writer, Eça de Queiroz. Each of the 16 rooms and suites are unique. There are no numbers on the doors, but names imbued in history. A sojourn or meal at Lawrence’s is like stepping back into the Romantic era, with all the comfort of the present.
Accommodations
Lawrence’s Hotel maintains the intimate old-world charm and personalized service of a country inn. Each of the eleven rooms and five suites, some of which boast a fireplace, are individually decorated. In keeping with the hotel’s philosophy of preserving its romantic atmosphere, here you will find rooms with names rather than numbers, keys rather than plastic cards, and beautiful polished oak floors in lieu of carpets.
